He began in China.
Now we continue in Japan.

Our story began with our American friend Chris. In 2006, he founded Highlands Coffee in Guiyang, bringing the American café culture he knew to a new city.

I joined the business in 2010. Coffee, cheesecake and the people who came through our doors became part of everyday life.

Today, our journey continues in Tokyo. A different language, culture and way of life ask us to learn again. After watching a foreign friend build a café in China, we are now foreign entrepreneurs in Japan.

Twenty years have taught us what to hold on to. A new city reminds us how to begin.
